More Pakistan Flights Halted Following Peshawar Attack
Qatar Airways has joined Emirates and Etihad in suspending flights to the Pakistani city of Peshawar following a deadly attack on an aircraft at the city’s airport last week.

The Pakistan International Airlines flight was fired on as it landed last Tuesday, killing a passenger on board.

Although police arrested dozens of people following the incident, they are said not to have full control of areas around the airport where the shots are thought to have originated. Qatar Airways and the two other Gulf-based airlines have said they hope to resume services when it is safe to do so.

The incident and flight cancellations at Peshawar follow attacks at Karachi Airport earlier this month that led to airlines including Cargolux and Cathay Pacific suspending their flights to Pakistan.

The last Cathay Pacific flights to Pakistan took place at the weekend, with all the airline’s flights to and from Pakistan now suspended for an indefinite period.
