Karzai Talks to John Kerry about Afghan Peace Process
KABUL – The Afghan President Hamid Karzai talked to the US Secretary of State John F. Kerry about peace process, Karzai’s office said Sunday. Speaking over phone, President Karzai told John Kerry that the peace process should not be a victim of foreign plots, Karzai’s office said in a statement. Karzai’s office said that some countries are trying to control the peace talks to achieve their goals.
“Some countries are trying to control the peace process of Afghanistan to achieve their selfish goals,” Karzai’s Deputy Spokesman Fayeq Wahidi said. However, the Office did not provide more details about the Karzai-Kerry conversation. The talk continued for hours. “Karzai’s comment means that he is not ready to talk to any other group but only with the US,” Faizullah Jalal, Kabul University professor told TOLOnews. (Tolonews)
