Karzai Orders Arrest of Student’s Killer
KABUL – President Karzai on Tuesday ordered interior and defence) ministries to arrest the killers of a school student, who was allegedly shot dead by an Afghan soldier in central Kapisa province.Syed Mustafa Sherzai, the provincial education director, said Tawabullah, son of Mudassir, was a seventh class student at the Qudratullah-i-Shahid High School. He was gunned down in Tagab district.
Tawabullah was killed by Nadir, an ANA commander, without any reason on his way to the market to buy textbooks.President Karzai and Education Minister FarooqWardak expressed their sympathies with the victim’s family over the phone and promised severe punishment for the culprits. A press release from Kapisa education department said: “Qudratullah, a former principal of the same school, had been killed by the ANA commander.”
According to a statement from the Office of Administrative Affairs, Wardak has referred the case to a Cabinet meeting on Monday and asked for an overall assessment. President Karzai received all the information from the victim’s father through a phone call and ordered MoD and MoI to arrest the perpetrators.But Brig. Gen. KhwajaFaqir Ahmad Siddiqui, the provincial police chief, said that a personnel rivalry had resulted in the murder and the killer was yet to be identified.(PAN)
