Iran Army Will Counter Any Threat
Tehran – A senior Iranian commander says the Islamic Republic of Iran is keeping a watchful eye on all potential threats against the country. According to Press TV, commander of the Iranian Army’s Ground Forces Brigadier General Ahmad-Reza Pourdastan on Saturday said “The Army is monitoring all threats and is capable of countering any threats in the air and on land and in difficult conditions.”
The Iranian commander said “The Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran constantly monitors all extensive regional and transregional movements.”He added that Iran’s Army will unveil its new achievements on the first day of the Sacred Defense Week on September 22. Pourdastan further stated that the Army’s Ground Forces are to stage maneuvers dubbed Qamar-e Bani Hashem in an area covering 250 square kilometers in the south of the country in November.
In recent years, Iran has secured great accomplishments in its defense sector and attained self-sufficiency in producing essential military equipment and systems. The Islamic Republic has held several military drills to enhance the defense capabilities of its armed forces and to test modern military tactics and equipment. Iran has repeatedly said its military might poses no threat to other countries, insisting that its defense doctrine is based on deterrence. (IRIB News)
