Council of Ministers Bans Importing Low Quality Oil
KABUL – The Ministry of Commerce and Industry on Tuesday said that the Council of Ministers has banned the import of semi-refined and low quality oil into Afghanistan. The Spokesman of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Musafer Quqandi, said that the semi-refined oil and low quality petrol and diesel will not be imported any more in Afghanistan.
Quqandi added that Council of Minister made the decision in order to reduce pollution in the country. “After this, good quality oil, meaning better than A 92 petrol and L02-62 diesel, will be imported. Our aim is to prevent environmental problems and have a good environment,” Quqandi said.
The ministry of commerce warned that the Afghan traders who already purchased lower quality oil are allowed to import and finish their oil within three months from today, and after three months they would not be allowed to import low quality oils. According to the ministry, the offenders will face legal punishment if they violate the new regulation. (Tolonews)
