10 ANA Officials Killed: Mod
KABUL: Ten Afghan National Army (ANA) officials were killed following roadside bombings over the past two days in various parts of the country, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) said in a statement on Monday.
During the past two days, the army conducted cleanup offensives in Badakhshan, Kandahar, Logar, Helmand, Herat and Khost provinces, the statement said.
At least 60 armed rebels, including six mine planters and a commander, Amir Mohammad alias Kuchai Mullah, had also been killed and 37 others wounded.
Some weapons and ammunitions were also seized during the offensives. Meanwhile, 14 insurgents were killed and 15 others wounded during a joint ANA and police operation in the Nawzad district of Helmand province.
But Taliban claimed inflicting heavy casualties on security personnel during various engagements. (Mohammad Ali Bahrami)
